Obituary of Shirley W. Vogel

Honeoye- Shirley W. Vogel age 85, passed away early Thursday morning November 9, 2017, at the Avon Nursing Home where she had been a resident for a short time.

She was born in Dansville, on November 5, 1932, a daughter of the late George and Helen (Sherman) Weber. She was also predeceased by a sister Betty Nell MacDonald. On June 7, 1952, she was married to Charles F. Vogel, who survives.

She was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dansville. Shirley was a graduate of Colgate Rochester Divinity School. Shirley was the librarian at the Bloomfield Elementary School for many years. After retirement she worked as a librarian at Allen's Hill Free Library in Honeoye.

Surviving in addition to her husband Charlie, are two sons, David (Susan) Vogel of Bloomfield, and Dennis (Kim) Vogel of Lake Elmo, MN. Grandsons, Bradley (Nazen) Vogel, Steven (Chesare) Vogel and Eric Vogel, great-grandsons, Travis Powell, Jesstin "Gunner" Vogel, Gage Vogel, Cameron Vogel and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. Online remembrances may be left HindleFuneralHome.com.
