Obituary of Harriet M. Pickard

Dansville- Harriet M. Pickard age 99, passed away late Monday evening July 10, 2017 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the past several years.

She was born in West Sparta on December 7, 1917, the daughter of Floyd and Gladys (Martin) Hartmann. She was also predeceased by her husband Robert Pickard, a daughter Patricia DeMoulin, and brothers, Austin “Mush”, Leon, Robert and Edwin Hartmann.

Harriet worked in the cafeteria at Murray Hill in Mt. Morris. Robert and Harriet also worked the Pickard Chicken Farm on Route 63 in Sparta for many years. Harriet is a Daughter of the American Revolution and member of the West Sparta Grange.  She enjoyed collecting antiques, traveling, going for rides long car rides, her family and jibber jabbering.

She is survived by her son, David Pickard of Sparta, grandchildren, David Pickard Jr., Tamara Kerr, Jill Bielecki, Sheldon and Marcus Pickard, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday from 10:00am to 12:00 noon pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will follow calling hours. Interment with will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Sparta. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
