Obituary of Betty Jean Howe

Dansville- Betty Jean Howe age 87, passed away late Friday evening February 17, 2017, at the Conesus Lake Nursing home in Livonia. She was born in the Town of Ossian, on October 11, 1929, a daughter of Charles Darwin and Mary Aldene Plyler Luce. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Darlene Ingram and Thomas Luce. On June 11, 1948, she was married to Charles Otto Howe, who survives. Betty was a longtime faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dansville, where she was active with the Altar Guild and the Sixty Plus or Minus Club. She had worked for NYSEG in Dansville and the former Wilma's and Wanda's Florist. Surviving in addition to her husband, Charlie, are two daughters; Kathy Howe of Springwater, Marcia Howe of Rochester; a son, James (Shannon Ashley) Howe of Mendon; a brother Norman (Joyce) Luce of FL; sister in-laws June Collier, Kay Howe, Priscilla Howe, and Nancy Luce; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran, 21 Clara Barton St., in Dansville with the Rev. Virginia Mazzarella officiating. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville. Online memorials may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
