Obituary of Henry William Rodgers

Dansville-Henry William Rodgers age 65. Passed away early Tuesday morning December 27, 2016, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born in Dansville on June 28, 1951, a son of the late Frank and Margaret (Thompson) Rodgers. On July 31, 1980, he was married to Wilma Jacobs Rodgers, who survives. Henry was a US Navy veteran serving during Vietnam on the following ships, USS Stormes DD780, USS Greene DD711, and USS Lowrey DD770 as a Boiler man 2nd Class. He was a member of the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of the American Legion for over 40 years. Henry was a former employee of Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. of Dansville. He is retired from the building maintenance department at Dansville Central School. He had also worked at Buck's Nursery, Birdseye, and Polly-O Dairy. He is survived by his dear wife, Wilma, three children, Terri (William) Bingham, NC, Loren (Nicole) Kershner of Dalton and Michael Rodgers of WA; three brothers, Frank (Debra) Rodgers of Dansville, Timothy (Joyce) Rodgers, of Retsof, Eugene (Tammy) Rodgers of Dansville; grandchildren, Heather Greene, Gregory Kershner, and Geoffrey Maxwell, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. A graveside service and full military honors will be held Friday 11:00 am at Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd., Hornell, NY 14843.
