Dansville- Warren L. “Barney” Collier, age 93, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning August 14, 2016. He was born in Hempstead, NY on December 21, 1922, a son of the late Jason and Bertha Collier. He was predeceased by a son, John Collier, and a sister, Bernice Ackley. On July 3, 1948, after serving his country in WWII he was married to June Howe, who survives. Barney was a WW II US Army veteran serving from 1943 to 1946 as a MP. Barney and June owned and operated Campbell’s Dairy on Clinton St., in Dansville for many years, retiring in 1986. He was a devoted longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Dansville, where he served on the Church Council and was an usher. He was also a member of the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of the American Legion, the Phoenix Lodge # 115 of the F&AM, the former Exchange Club, and the Sonyea Men’s Golf league. In his free time her enjoyed woodworking in his shop at home and in earlier years playing golf. In addition to his wife, of sixty-eight years, June, he is survived by his children, Diane Golisano of Victor, Timothy Collier of CO, Susan Collier of Dansville, and Alan Collier of Fairport, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Dansville on Saturday, August 27, at 12:00 noon. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville.
