Hunt- Ronald L. Thompson age 91, passed away early Saturday afternoon July 9, 2016, at the Livingston County CFNR in Mt. Morris, where he had been a resident for the past few years. He was born in the Town of Portage, NY on September 22, 1924, a son of the late La Vergne and Margaret (Smith) Thompson. On December 30, 1942, he was married to Ruth Yencer Thompson, who predeceased him on March 18, 1993. He was also predeceased by his daughters, Roseita Braddock Bennett, Mavis Thompson, and siblings, Verna Peterson, Mary Donovan, Mavis Thompson, Dwight and Kenneth Thompson. Ron owned and operated the Thompson Dairy Farm in Hunt for many years. He was a member of the Hunt Baptist Church, the Hunt Grange, Livingston County Farm Bureau and the Soil and Water Conservation. He is survived by three daughters, Rhonda (Keith) Rittenhouse-Norton, Ramona (Paul) Rathbun both of Pavilion, and Roxanne (Douglas) Morsch of Ossian, a brother, Allen (Jean) Thompson of Hunt, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00am at the Hunt Baptist Church, where services will be held at the completion of calling hours. Interment will be in Hunt Hollow Cemetery, Hunt. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Parkinson's Disease Association, or Livingston County Senior Nutrition or the Resident Fund at the Livingston County CFNR.
