Dansville- Jean M. Sutfin age 78, passed away Thursday morning, December 3, 2015, at Noyes Memorial Hospital, in Dansville following a brief illness. She was born in Dansville, on March 7, 1937, a daughter of the late Harry and Nancy (Button) Cartwright. On October 30, 1954, she was married to the Norman Lyle Sutfin, who predeceased her on February 3, 2015. She was also predeceased by a sister, Eleanora Van Durme and a brother, Harry Cartwright. Jean was retired from ARC of Livingston County as a quality control specialist. She was a member of the James H. Jackson Hose Fireman's Auxiliary. Surviving are her children, Alan Sutfin, Norma (Paul) Gangi of Dansville, Timothy (Pauline Park) Sutfin of Melville, NY, and Russell (Linda) Sutfin of Wayland, grandchildren, Sherri Cogswell, Kevin Wheaton, Matthew and Nicholas Sutfin, and a great-granddaughter, Talah Cogswell, siblings, Dorothy Goodell, Cecelia Dowell, a brother in-law Larry VanDurme, sister's in-law Marion Leven and Linda Gertrude Suitfin, many nieces and nephews. There will be no prior calling hours. A graveside service will be held Saturday May 28, 2016, at 11:00 am in Rogersville Forest Lawn Cemetery in South Dansville. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. Memorials may be made to the Dansville Area Food Pantry or the Resident Fund at the Livingston County CFNR.
