Obituary of Gaylord L. Luce

Dansville- Gaylord L. Luce age 61, passed away Friday afternoon June 12, 2015, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Hornell on February 10, 1954, the son of the late Edwin and Rhea (Sleggs) Luce. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Kathy Pearce and Kay Erickson. On October 7, 1978, he was married to the former Jennifer Carter Luce who survives. A tireless worker his whole life, Gaylord worked at Swain Ski Center, excelled in carpentry and loved playing basketball and baseball. He was also an agent for Nothnagle Realtors in Dansville For the past seventeen years Gaylord has been then head building consultant at the Dansville Central School where he always found time for “his kids”. One can never forget his love for a good joke and a day of hunting and fishing. Surviving in addition to his wife Jennifer are, two sons, Aaron and David Luce both of Dansville, a sister, Karen Young of Burns, a step-brother Gary (Darlene) Luce of FL, and several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call Friday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00am in the Dansville Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Marcia Reiff officiating. A reception will follow at the Dansville American Legion.
