Obituary of Eleanor Patterson Forsythe

Dansville- Eleanor Patterson Forsythe age 97, passed away peacefully at home early Monday morning February 9, 2015. She was born in Geneseo, on June 29, 1917, a daughter of the late Jonas West and Evelyn Grace (Piper) Patterson. On April 4, 1941, she was married to Robert Moore Forsythe, who predeceased her on October 15, 1986. She was also predeceased by a daughter Margaret Baker, and a grandson, Jason Statler. Eleanor was a member of the Dansville United Methodist Church and United Methodist Woman. She was a member of the Livingston County Pamono Grange, the NYS and National Grange for 73 years a former member of the Linwood Friendly Club, the Today's Widow of Dansville, and the Reynold's Sunshine Circle at the former King's Daughters' and Son's Home. She had also resided in Pavilion for fifty-three years. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth "Bettie" (Richard) Whitenack of Dansville, seven grandchildren, Robert (Joyce) Baker of TX, Thomas Baker of CO, Joseph (Tara) Statler of Warsaw, James Statler of Henrietta, Deb (Gary) McCray of Dansville, Tracey (Steve) Badger of VA, and Laura (Brendan) McClinton of Fairport, eleven great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews in Northern Ireland. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Dansville United Methodist Church, where services will be held at the completion of calling hours. Interment will be in Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo, at a later date. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville.
