Dansville – Beatrice “Petie” Hoffman, age 98, went home to the Lord on Saturday, July 19, 2014. Petie was born on Stones Falls Rd., in Dansville, the fifth and youngest child of Frank and Anna (Boguhn) Conrad, and lived her whole life in the Dansville area. She was a graduate of Dansville High School and worked as a secretary at Foster Wheeler, Maloney Bros. Nursery, Kelly Bros. Nursery and the Pratt Law Office from which she retired in 1977. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, where she helped for many years with the annual garage sale and, along with her sister, Catherine Marie Lieb, planted and tended the flower beds for as long as they were both able. Petie was predeceased by her husband, Chester Hoffman, Jr. as well as her siblings Margaret (Edward) Zimmer, Franklin (Marie) Conrad, William (Lenore) Conrad and Catherine Marie (Alexander) Lieb. She is survived by: her daughter, Joanne Rogers of Winter Park, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Dcn. John and Lorraine Hoffman of Honeoye Falls; granddaughter Stephanie (Steven) Philips of Rochester; great grandson, Miles Philips; several nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Suzanne Engel of Pittsford/Dansville; her care givers and her dear friend, Rita Morsch of Dansville. A memorial mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 5, 11 AM at St Mary’s Church, Dansville. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville.
