He was born in the Town of Dansville on July 12, 1931, a son of the late Dean and Mildred Weiermiller Schryver. On June 28, 1958, he was married to Jane M. Mader, who survives. He graduated from Dansville High School in 1950. From 1951-1955, Jim served with the 90th Bomber Squadron in Kunsan, Korea and was late stationed at Nellis AFB as a member of the US Air Force. After being honorable discharged, he held positions with Taylor Instruments and Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. as a draftsman and the Castle Company as a product designer, retiring in 1993 from MTD Corp. Jim was an avid sportsman, hunter, and collector of guns and militaria. His cats and caregivers brought him much joy in his later years. The family thanks Kathleen Morgan and Kristie Cartwright for the extra special care that they gave Jim. Jim is also survived by his children, Janet L. Schryver (Bill Haney) of Genoa, OH, and James A. Schryver of Wayland, his sister, Lois Harvey of Canaseraga, his niece, Deanne (Dwight) Knapp of Ossian and his nephew, Dean (Pam) Harvey of Canaseraga, as well as their children. At the request of Jims children, there will be no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vincent House, PO Box 566, Wayland, NY 14572. Ref. Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville. HindleFuneralHome.com
